Martinus Wolf is a Belgian pianist, composer and arranger.

He studied at the Studio Herman Teirlinck (Department of Fine Arts) and followed a masterclass with Eliane Rodrigues. In 1996 he founded Les Fournisseurs Du Son, who were associated with the Filmmuseum of Antwerp. He was also co-founder of the Oranje Houtzagerij, the Ghent big band Franki, Fever of the Fifties, Fever of the Sixties, Trois Voies and many others.

Wolf has been active for several years as a house pianist and actor at the Zwarte Komedie as well as pianist at ATV. He also cooperated in CD recordings, including a number with the Black Comedy, Guido Belcanto, Stef Bos, Belgian Associality, Deborah Ostrega and Ernst Löw.

For the production ‘Ballroom Der Gebroken Harten’ he was orchestra leader for the arrangements for the famous ‘Decaporgan’. In the short film ‘De Veer van César’ by Minske Van Wijk and Oscar Spierenburg (with, among others, Pjeeroo Robjee and Jan Decleir) he acted as a pianist. With Vitalski, Martinus played a variety of performances, such as the Stand-up Tragedy with Irène Vervliet, Circus Bulderdrang and so on … With a lot of verve, he musically emphasizes silent films with a preference for those of Buster Keaton.

Martinus also composed a varied oeuvre of classical, romantic compositions. He is also not surprised about an up-tempo ragtime. In addition to piano, he plays accordion, wind instruments, guitar and vocals.
In duo with Stephan Van Uytvanck (harmonica) he brings a full evening program.
As a mission to bring his music among the people, he travels through Europe with a truck and piano, more about that in ‘Wolf on Tour’.

He was working on new arrangements for the  production ‘The Sweet Taste of Sins’, a musical about the life of and with Guido Belcanto, under the direction of Vitalski.
His autobiography ‘Mijn Pianomarathon’ recently appeared in which he gives an entertaining insight into the life of a traveling street musician.
